Chattabox is a holiday club for children that has taken place for week in Oundle each summer
for over 25 years organised by a group of volunteers.

For the last few years we have also held day clubs at Christmas and Easter

Chattabox is run by the churches in Oundle, under the banner of ‘OCYA’ (Oundle Churches Youth Association).

At Christmas and Easter, we encourage young people from Oundle and the surrounding areas to come and help serve, alongside adult volunteers, during the day by helping to lead the children’s activities.

In the summer, our young helpers again help to lead the children’s holiday club alongside adult volunteers, before enjoying their own programme of events during the afternoons and evenings.

What happens at Chattabox?

All children taking part in Chattabox will join a team of between 8-10 other children of their age – in this team they had the opportunity to do a range of crafts, take part in games activities and enjoy refreshments together. During the 2 ½ hours in the morning all the groups will join together in the main school hall for singing, drama, games and Bible stories. We are committed to creating a safe and fun environment for all children participating and are supported be a fabulous team of adult volunteers.

Who can take part?

Chattabox is open to all children from age 5 (who have completed a Reception year at school) up to age 11 (year 6). We are very happy to welcome children with special needs and disabilities to join in as they are able.

We have managed to hold the price of the camp at £25. However, we do not wish any children not to be able to take part because of the cost of the week so please contact us if you require any assistance with covering all or part of the cost.

Our volunteer team range from Youth Helpers (Year7) through to adults of any age. We organise training and briefings for all the volunteers so please don’t let the fact that you haven’t been involved before put you off.

CHATTABOX+ - BOOKING NOW OPEN

Chattabox+ Youth Camp runs alongside Chattabox Holiday Club. It is for those aged between 11-18 years
(School Years 7 + as of September 2023).

Chattabox is run by the churches in Oundle, under the banner of ‘OCYA’ (Oundle Churches Youth Association) and allows the young people to serve during the mornings as they help to lead the children’s holiday club, and then to enjoy their own programme of events during the afternoons and evenings.

If you would to join us we would love you to commit for the whole time as it makes the experience a lot more fulfilling. Please email us on chattabox.oundle@gmail.com if you are unable to commit to the whole event so we can discuss alternative arrangements.
